Return To The Light: A Winter Spiral Ceremony
Return to the Light: The Winter Spiral Ceremony
~ Friday 19th December | 7–9pm ~
Each winter, as the nights draw long and the air stills, we gather at The Barn Temple for our annual Winter Spiral Ceremony - a meditative, heart-opening ritual that honours the turning of the year.
For our ancestors, this turning point of the year - the Winter Solstice, was a sacred time of gathering and reflection. As the longest night fell, they honoured the return of the sun with fire, song, and ceremony, marking the rebirth of light after darkness. The spiral, too, is an ancient symbol - a pathway through shadow into renewal - reminding us that even in the depths of winter, life is quietly returning.
The Winter Spiral invites us to journey inward - to walk into the dark, in stillness and surrender, before returning with a single flame of light. Each step a prayer, each turn a remembrance.
We honour the cycle of death and rebirth, carrying renewal in our hearts as we move toward the lighter half of the year.
This sacred ceremony has become a beloved tradition at our temple - one that many women have walked, year after year. It is a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the quiet wisdom of the season.
Spiced apple tea, mince pies, warmth, community, and ceremony by candlelight. ✨
Come as you are. Leave with light in your hands and softness in your heart.
