Samhain Women's Circle ~ A Crafty Afternoon to Honour Our Ancestors
Samhain Women's Circle
~ A Crafty Afternoon to Honour Our Ancestors ~
Sunday 1st November | 1pm to 3pm | £25 per woman
As the veil of autumn deepens and the natural world settles into its season of rest, we gather at Samhain to remember those who came before us, to honour the threads of belonging that connect us across generations, and to make space for the stories that live within us.
Our Samhain Women's Circle is a gentle afternoon of craft, ceremony, prayer and shared nourishment at The Barn Temple.
Together, we will create a little altar for our ancestors, bringing photographs, flowers, herbs, seasonal fruits and offerings of food to make a place for remembrance. There will be space for quiet reflection, prayers and song, for sharing the names and stories of those we carry with us, and for simply sitting in the warmth of a circle where nothing needs to be performed and nobody needs to be anything other than themselves.
We will spend time making our own Samhain keepsakes from natural treasures, weaving together fallen twigs, dried botanicals, feathers and other beautiful offerings from the natural world. Perhaps a little ancestral talisman, perhaps a wreath for your home or sacred space. Something made slowly, with our hands, as the conversations and connections of the afternoon unfold.
And, of course, there will be autumn tea, something wholesome to nibble (likely cakes as always) and the simple pleasure of being together.
You are welcome whether you arrive with a deep and established relationship with your ancestors, a handful of questions, a complicated family story or simply a longing to feel a little more connected to the roots from which you have grown.
Our ancestors were human, just as we are. Their stories may hold love, courage, hardship, tenderness and things we are still learning to understand. We come not to place the past upon a pedestal, but to remember, to give thanks where we can, to make room for what is complicated and to honour the lives that made our own possible.
Please bring a photograph of an ancestor, or several if you wish, to place upon our shared altar. If you don't have photographs, you are welcome to bring a name, a written memory or simply hold someone in your heart.
Come as you are, with whatever you carry.
There is a place for you in the circle.
