She is Becoming
A sacred mother & daughter retreat honouring first menstruation
Saturday 5th July 2025 | 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
The Barn Temple, Pontblyddyn
£65 per family | Payment plans available
There comes a time in a young girl’s life when the quiet stirrings of change begin to whisper through her body, her emotions, her inner world. For many, this time is met with confusion, secrecy, or silence.
But it doesn’t have to be.
She is Becoming is a sacred and gentle invitation—an intimate day retreat for mothers and daughters to honour the first bleed, the gateway into maidenhood, with ceremony, connection, and reverence. It’s a space where girls aged 10 to 15 can feel safe to be seen, heard, and celebrated as they step across this sacred threshold.
In many cultures, the first menstruation was once marked with ritual, storytelling, and community. This day is a remembrance of that wisdom. A weaving back together of what was once known: that this time matters. That she matters.
This retreat offers a nourishing space to:
Make rose oil with intention and care
Share cacao and speak openly about the first bleed
Sit in circle and reflect on feelings, stories, and changes
Walk the earth and create mandalas from nature’s offerings
Weave red thread, drum together, and mark the shift from girl to maiden
Honour the child self in a gentle letting-go ceremony
Share food, warmth, and stories in community
Why this space is being offered
Because our daughters deserve more than shame or silence.
Because you, as their mother, deserve to walk beside them in beauty and strength.
Because this moment will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
This space is being offered so we can reclaim the rites of the feminine—together.
So girls may grow rooted, confident, and in awe of their own cycles.
So they may know from the beginning: this is not something to hide.
It is something to honour.
