~ An Elemental Gathering at The Barn Temple ~

As the wheel of the year turns and the earth begins her slow descent towards autumn, we gather to light the first candle against the darkening season.

 This is a day of gratitude & remembrance 

 A day to honour the abundance that has sustained us throughout the year and to give thanks for all that the earth so generously offers. A day to gather what is precious, to lay down what has become too heavy to carry, and to prepare ourselves for the quieter season that awaits.

For months we have lived beneath longer days and open skies. We have watched the hedgerows flower and fruit. We have felt the warmth of the sun upon our skin. We have witnessed the quiet miracle of things growing, ripening and coming to fullness.

Now the season begins to change.

The mornings arrive a little cooler. The evenings draw in a little sooner. Leaves loosen their grip upon the branches and the earth begins her slow exhale.

Together we will journey through the elements, listening for their wisdom and remembering our place within the living world.

Earth will invite us to remember our belonging.

Water will carry our prayers and offerings.

Air will move through breath, drum and silence.

Fire will illuminate what we are called to tend as the days grow darker.

Through movement, reflection and ritual, we will honour the season of letting go. Like the trees releasing their leaves, we too will be invited to soften our grip on all that no longer belongs to us.

A red thread ceremony will weave through our gathering, connecting us to the women who came before us and those yet to come. Anointing will be offered as a blessing and a remembering.

At the centre of our gathering will be a banquet of seasonal foods shared in community. A table rich with the gifts of the harvest. A moment to slow down, nourish ourselves and celebrate the simple beauty of gathering together.

Before we close, we will rest deeply in a sound bath, allowing the wisdom of the day to settle into body, heart and soul.

This is a day to honour what has ripened and a day to release what is complete.

A day to remember that even as the season darkens, we do not walk into it alone.
